Formerly popular as Amarapura, Hulimavu is a great locality situated in the south of Bangalore. It comes under the Bommanalli municipal corporation and is present on Bannerghatta Road. This area is connected to the rest of the parts of Bangalore city through BMTC bus services. Its name Hulimavu signifies ‘sour mango’ in the Kannada language. A ruler named Saarakeva ruling in 17th-century is believed to have constructed Kodandarama Swami Temple in this locality for the well-being of the inhabitants of this locality. Every year here Sri Kodandarama Swami Bramhosatva is celebrated over here. You can also find here Sri Ramalingeshwara Cave Temple. This locality is also adorned by charming Hulimavu Lake. It also has great shopping venues and malls, such as Royal Meenakshi Mall. Hulimavu has some reputed educational institutions in its vicinity, namely Indian Institute of Management (IIMB), BGS National Public School, and School of Business Studies and Social Sciences of Christ University. Even though there are renowned hospitals near this locality, it has limited healthcare services within it. So, inhabitants of Hilamavu may need to travel a significant distance to obtain modern and effective treatment. Fortunately, easy availability of home healthcare facilities, such as at-home physiotherapy in Hulimavu, Bangalore, enable the residents here to receive the best physical therapy in time to treat their condition.
