Diwali, the “Festival of Light”, is one of the most important Hindu festivals celebrated in India. Diwali signifies the victory of good over evil. Like any other Indian traditional festivals, Diwali entails fun, frolic and food. It is a common sight to see people gorge on high-calorie dishes that include fried, high-fat foods and of course, sweets. Expectedly, the diet goes for a toss.

It is still fine to indulge in a food fiesta once in a while for people with no serious health issues. However, those with diabetes must tread carefully while treating themselves with sweet and savory delicacies. In order to avoid disastrous outcomes, a diabetic must watch out their diet amidst the glitz and glamour of the festivity.

The amount of sweets or high-calorie foods that a diabetic can consume depends on the sugar levels. Here are certain pro tips to follow during Diwali for people suffering from diabetes to ensure proper diet and health.
